So lately our system has been slow. Like 12 seconds between mouse clicks slow. Like ouch my brain hurts slows. So I have been tweaking everything I could think of to speed up the system.
However, editing our water utilities data means that all the data must be on. We had the map cache set to auto and I was never really positive it was helping. So out of frustration this morning I just went through and tried all the different ways I could think to use the map cache. I changed the autoscale, I setup a cache manually, I tied without the cache. Even when I manually built a cache I would inevitably pan too far over and lose the cache and my speed with it. What we found today was that if we zoomed out twice the size of the area we were going to be AsBuilting tuned off the auto cache and manually built a chase as long as once we zoomed in we careful we could edit that area , like a subdivision, with much improved speed. Now I just started this so I may run into troubles with it later but so far our speed is much improved.

Shall we try this again?
So downloaded A blogging app for my iPad. And this is a test to see if it will work. Surprisingly I can actually type on this keyboard at an alright pace.
For this of you at the #esriuc tweet lots so I can feel like I am there.
